Hi. I’m Pixcelation, and if you’re reading this, that means you’re at least somewhat interested in who I am and what I create, so … thanks!
Pixcelation is something that began back in 2013 as an independent media news/review website (the full name was Pixcelation Entertainment). It was something I cherished as a means for me to work on improving my writing skills alongside a bunch of my friends at the time. But, after a couple of years, we all started drifting off on our respective paths and I made the executive decision to close the site down.
But, little did I know I was about to embark on a new journey … one of significant self-discovery and growth.
In 2017, after meeting Joey “The Anime Man” Bizinger at Anime “I’ll Never Go Back” Matsuri, and learning of a whole new trend of creators talking into the ether about anime and video games, I decided to give it a whirl. I repurposed the Pixcelation name and started creating video content, first with the anime review series “Anime Ambush,” and then with the video game review series “The Pixcelation Show,” among others.
I—like you—still can’t believe my first real video was a review of Assassin’s Creed: Unity. I should be ashamed.
It has been ~eight years since I began this journey in earnest, and while as of writing this I have never attained an incredibly significant amount of fame or success, the small amount of notoriety I have achieved is much appreciated. It hasn’t been entirely smooth sailing—I mean, I ‘quit’ making content twice, and let’s be real, much of the last few years has been made up of an extended hiatus, but to those who have stuck with me regardless, you are a truly real one and I am so thankful for you.
Had I never embarked on this quest, I wouldn’t have met some of the coolest people in the world, and that’s an alternate reality I don’t wanna see.
It’s not ogre yet, Bits & Bobs—in the immortal words of Mega Ran, the best part of the story comes at the end, but that part hasn’t been written yet.
